Cobbs Lake Preserve, Lake Ariel, PA: A Natural Jewel for Country Living

In my travels around our gorgeous homeland of Northeast PA, I have – what I believe to be – is a privilege to explore some very fine residential communities.  And, the one I toured today was Cobbs Lake Preserve in Lake Ariel, Wayne County.

This year-round residential development is a very unique wooded and private community of 540 acres – 400 of them natural preserve land with a pristine non-powerboat lake. The lake is stocked for the leisurely afternoons fishing on the 42 acres lake or just to meander around the many coves in your rowboat or canoe. Then, put your walking shoes on and explore the seemingly endless hiking and walking trails in surroundings its’ association membership is tirelessly committed to preserving.

Their mission is to maintain and balance the natural environment of a well- protected forest; to keep the forest healthy and productive, to help improve the wildlife habitat, conserve the soil and water and the general aesthetics of the environment and, at the same time – balance the support services and resources for its vital and active homeowner- community.

Cobbs Lake Preserves association dues are fairly minimal in light of everything it is committed to. For 940.00 (2011 season fee) the dues include trash disposal, road maintenance, the community well source and club house.

A very special community indeed and if you’d like to learn more about the unique wooded enclave visit them @ cobbslakepreserve.net or www.instapage.org/cobbs.
